TRANSFER NEWS: MANCHESTER CITY JOIN HAALAND CHASE

The transfer mill is whirling around and the news it brought this time is that Manchester City have joined the queue of a host of top European clubs who want to capture Haaland in the summer transfer window.

Ever since Haaland left Salzburg to join German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund, he has never been out of the news, making headlines with rumors surrounding him consistently. Recently, rumors circulated that Bayern we’re looking to make a move for Haaland in the near future, but the European champions squashed the rumors saying they always have Robert Lewandowski.

Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest in the young prolific goalscorer who has not stopped scoring since moving to Germany, bagging goals both in the Bundesliga and in the UEFA Champions League for fun.

The most recent club to have been linked to the Norwegian are English Premier League giants Manchester City. The club on the blue half of Manchester are rumored to want Haaland to be the direct replacement for long-serving goal poacher Sergio Aguero.

Aguero has battled with injuries this season and has forced Peo Guardiola to play without a striker in some games this season. Although he has spent a lot of years at the club and is even their highest goalscorer, many believe the time has come for him to go ply his trade elsewhere.

Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola has publicly declared that his client is happy in Germany and is not going anywhere anytime soon for now. But it has not stopped City from making inquiries about signing him in the summer.

The youngster recently won the Golden Boy award as he beat the likes of Mason Greenwood and Ansu Fati to the gong. Should he move to City next summer, he will likely face Olé Gunnar Solskjær’s Manchester United in the Manchester Derby. Olé is Haaland’s compatriot and was touted as the manager to sign Haaland when he was at Salzburg but was against the move.
